Have you ever tried the Dunkin Donuts Bagel Bites? Every time we’re near a DD my daughter asks for them, I don’t blame her, they’re very tasty! Sadly, we don't live near a Dunkin Donuts, so I’ve been trying to recreate these for her for a long time, and this batch is finally the one, so I’m sharing it with you! These homemade treats come out soft and deliciously filled with cream cheese, wrapped in a nice toasted shell from the air fryer. These yummy stuffed bagels make for a tasty breakfast or an anytime snack.
This recipe uses basic, simple ingredients, and it’s super easy! If you don’t want it to be too cheesy, cut the amount of cream cheese in half. You could also use different flavors of cream cheese. I’ve used garlic butter instead of an egg wash and it turned out great too. My son asked me to make him one with peanut butter and banana slices, it turned out super tasty too! You can really stuff these with whatever your heart desires!
So until we’re near a Dunkin Donuts, this is the perfect copycat recipe to satisfy our cravings! These mini stuffed bagels are sure to please, huge my recipe a try, you will love these addictive little treats!
INGREDIENTS:
1 block of cream cheese (250g/ 8oz) *this can easily be reduced in half if you prefer less cream cheese
1 cup of flour
2 teaspoons of baking powder
1/3 teaspoon of salt
1 cup of sour cream
1 egg
1 teaspoon of water
Everything Bagel seasoning, to taste
STEPS:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Add in the sour cream and mix until the dough forms nicely.
Cut the block of cream cheese into 8 equal parts.
Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and roll the pieces into balls. This part can get sticky, so have some extra flour on hand, literally!
Use your fingers to make a space in the center of each dough ball. Put a piece of cream cheese piece inside each dough ball and close the dough around the cream cheese and roll each piece into a smooth ball.
In a small bowl, mix the water and egg together.
Dip each dough ball into the egg wash then sprinkle the everything bagel seasoning on top.
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper liner to make the cleanup easier.
Place the dough balls into your air fryer and cook for 10 minutes (they should begin to brown.
Enjoy! Bon appétit!
