This cheesy meat pie combines perfectly seasoned meat with many of your favorite shepherds pie fillings, baked in a flaky, buttery pie crust for a comforting meal any day of the week! Another win for this recipe is it is something I know my family will eat, and if you deal with picky eaters, you know how important it is to make something you can be sure they will eat. Sometimes it is hard to want to try new recipes if you aren't sure everyone in the family will eat it. Your family will devour this easy to make meat pie.
Personally, I love making baked dishes because while the food is baking in the oven, I can do something else productive (like doing the dishes and cleaning the kitchen up) rather than just standing over the stove. Then, when the meal is ready, my kitchen is basically clean and after-meal clean up is so much faster.

INGREDIENTS:
1 lb of lean ground beef
1 onion, chopped
3 small garlic cloves, crushed
1 tablespoon of ketchup
12 oz/341 ml can of whole kernel corn
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
Salt & pepper to taste
1 pie crust (I use Pillsbury)
STEPS:
Heat the oven to 395°F. While the oven is heating, season the beef with salt and pepper. Cook the beef, onion and garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat. Pour off any fat.
Stir in the soup, corn and ketchup. Set the beef mixture aside.
Place the pie crust in a greased 9-inch pie pan or cake pan
Spread the beef mixture in the prepared pie/cake pan.
Sprinkle the cheese over the meat.
Bake for 25 minutes. Let cool a few minutes before cutting.
Bon appétit!
