*If you’re looking for a more savoury version of this dish, try my Cheesy Hawaiian Roll Garlic Bread recipe, they’re equally tasty!

INGREDIENTS:

For the Rolls:

  • 12 soft dinner rolls (Hawaiian sweet bread works well too)

  • 5 tablespoons of butter, melted

  • 1 tablespoons of brown sugar

  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 8 tablespoons of softened cream cheese

  • 6 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt

  • 1 tablespoon of white sugar

  • 1 egg

***If you want a more heavy, cheesecake type filling, substitute the yogurt with more cream cheese.

STEPS:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. Grease a large baking dish (9×13 works well).

  2. Place the rolls in the dish and cut a small circle in the top of each roll and carefully pull out the cut piece of bread, making sure not to cut the bottom of the rolls.

  3. Add the melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon to a small bowl and mix well until it’s all combined.

  4. Top the rolls with this mixture and be generous- get it all over the tops and insides of each roll, so they’re nicely coated.

  5. Add the cream cheese and yogurt to another small bowl and mix until it’s smooth. Crack the egg in there and mix again. Then, add sugar and mix some more until it’s nice and creamy.

  6. Gently fill each roll with the cream cheese mixture, be generous once again.

  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.

  8. Don’t burn yourself, the rolls will be hot, it’s best to wait a few minutes before separating the rolls from each other.

  9. I like to eat these warm and I recommend you try them that way too!

  10. Bon appétit!
