Easy Cornflake Wreaths

Updated: Dec 2, 2023

Cornflake Wreaths have been a huge hit in our house. My daughter can't have Rice Krispies, so I've been exploring some of my favourite, easy no-bake dessert recipes using Cornflakes instead. This quickly became one of my favorite easy holiday treats. They’re truly as easy and fun to make as they are to eat, and the ingredients are few and simple!

If you're looking for a great afternoon activity for yourself, or the kids, this is it and they're just as festive as they are delicious.

For me, the best part about these treats is that there is no baking required! Give my recipe a try, you'll love how easy & tasty it is!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2 tablespoons of salted butter

  • 20 regular sized marshmallows

  • 10 drops of green food coloring

  • 2 & 1/2 cups of cornflakes cereal

  • Nonstick cooking spray (for your hands)

  • Small sized pull & peel twizzlers (cut up in small clusters)

STEPS:

  1. Get your silicon baking mat ready, or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Melt the butter over low heat, in a large saucepan.

  3. Add the marshmallows and stir constantly, until melted. This step requires a great deal of patience!

  4. Add the green food coloring and stir until all the marshmallow mixture turns green.

  5. Remove the pot from the heat and add the cornflakes, stir continuously until the cereal is well coated with the marshmallow mixture.

  6. Spray your hands with any nonstick spray as often as needed during this step, this will help avoid the mixture sticking all over your hands.

  7. Scoop about 4 tablespoons of the mixture and form a log shape. Join the ends of the log together to form a wreath. Gently place the wreaths onto one of the silicon mat/prepared baking sheets. Continue this step until the cornflake mixture runs out.

  8. Decorate each wreath with 3 small clusters of the cut up pull & peel twizzler candies.

  9. Voila!
