Heart Shaped Chocolate Fruit Bites

These chocolate fruit hearts are so simple and delicious! They’re my go to recipe every Valentine’s Day, although I don’t discriminate and would eat them any day!

You just need 2 ingredients and about 5 minutes to put these fabulous little treats together! The pomegranate is my favourite, I always de-seed it before starting as it can be time consuming (and messy). The contrast between the chocolate and the juicy pomegranate seeds is incredible. It just melts in your mouth!

These chocolate fruit hearts are the perfect indulgent sweet treat! They’re such an easy treat to make for any party, festive event or just on any given day of the week. Give my recipe a try this Valentine’s Day, you’ll love the simplicity and delicious flavours.

INGREDIENTS:

  • Various fruits, cut up into small pieces- my favourites to use are pomegranates, strawberries and blueberries.

  • Milk or dark chocolate tablet (melted)

*you can melt your chocolate very carefully in the microwave, stopping & stirring every 30 seconds until fully melted or you can use the double boiler method. This method is explaineded at the end of this recipe.

STEPS:

  1. Prepare your fruit, make sure the pieces are cut small.

  2. Melt your broken up milk or dark chocolate bar in a microwave safe bowl at 30 second intervals, each time giving it a quick stir. It should be ready in 1 minute and 30 seconds.

  3. Poor your chocolate into each heart shaped mold and top with your fruit pieces. (I highly recommend silicone molds).

  4. Freeze for 30 minutes and enjoy!

  5. Bon appétit!

*Here are some simple steps for making your own double boiler:

  1. Fill a small saucepan at about 1/4 full with water and bring the water to a boil.

  2. Reduce the heat to a low setting and set a medium sized heat-proof glass bowl on top, make sure the bowl tightly covers the pot and there are a few inches of space between the bottom of the bowl and the water.
