My son is obsessed with stuffing, it’s his favourite holiday side dish but he eats it like it’s a main dish. So I decided to transform leftover stuffing into delicious waffles for him!
I found a fun and easy way to repurpose my son’s favourite side dish by transforming it into a yummy, crispy canvas that’s perfect for topping with all the other staples of a Thanksgiving or Christmas meal, such as turkey, potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy and anything else you like! You could even use them for breakfast and top them with eggs!
Leftover stuffing waffles are a super easy & tasty meal to make the day after Thanksgiving, or anytime you feel like making stuffing! You can top them with anything you’d like, or eat them just the way they are. Give my recipe a try, you’ll love it!
INGREDIENTS:
Leftover stuffing (I use about 1 cup per waffle)
nonstick cooking spray
Any toppings you like (examples: turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, gravy, eggs, cheese, etc.)
STEPS:
Preheat your waffle iron and spray both sides with a nonstick cooking spray.
Scoop the stuffing into the waffle iron and spread evenly until the entire iron is covered with a nice layer of stuffing. Close the lid and let the waffle bake until crispy golden brown- it takes mine about 10 minutes.
Remove the waffle from the iron and onto a plate and repeat with remaining stuffing to make as many as you’d like.
Top your waffle with the toppings of your choice. Enjoy! Bon appétit!
Some tips:
I believe that it’s best to stick with basic stuffing for your waffles.
The cooking time will vary based on your waffle maker. The waffles are done when the outside is crispy brown.
(I like to use a mini waffle maker)
