Simply Delicious Salmon Steak

Updated: Jul 5, 2022

I’ve been talking to people about the Mediterranean Diet a lot lately, outlining its health benefits. At first, I was upset and assumed that I’d have to eat boring, bland foods, but I’ve been exploring, researching and have found some delicious recipes that I’ll be sharing with you.

Salmon Steaks are one of my favourite cut of fish. Because it’s one of my favorite proteins, I’m always looking for different cuts and exploring different recipes. I came up with this simple recipe while exploring different ones, and found that most of the ones online make salmon steaks in a skillet or frying pan and use ingredients that I’m limiting, such as butter.

I want to show you how simple, delicious and healthy this protein can be. This recipe turns out restaurant-quality fish in 20 minutes! The prep is extremely simple and easy as you can use your favorite spice blend or even a rub to make a nice dinner that is perfect any day and for any occasion!

You can serve this beautiful salmon with a medley of grilled veggies and you have a super healthy, quick and tasty complete dinner that can be on the table in less than 30 minutes! Because salmon has a very distinctive flavour, it pairs well with different seasonings. For this baked salmon, I’ve decided to keep it very simple.

Side note: Both salmon steak and filet come from the same part of the salmon. The only difference is how it is cut. A salmon steak involves cutting through the back bone. A filet cuts the meat of the salmon from the bone.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 teaspoon of coarse Kosher salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper

  • As many salmon steaks as your heart desires!

STEPS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400F.

  2. Wash the salmon steaks and pat dry.

  3. Season the salmon steaks, on both sides, with the kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  4. Place the salmon steaks on a baking sheet.

  5. Bake for 20 minutes, the fish should reach 140 degrees.

  6. And…Voilà! Bon appétit!
