This delicious candied bacon is honestly the perfect snack for any occasion! It’s such a great sweet and savory treat. You can eat it as is, or crumble it over your salad, or even use it to garnish your fancy drinks! The possibilities are endless when it comes to bacon! I’ve candied bacon using different ingredients but always found the brown sugar to fall off. This time, I coated each piece of bacon with jam first, it helped the brown sugar stick perfectly. The sweet ingredients perfectly complemented the saltiness of the bacon. This entire recipe takea less than 30 minutes from start to finish! *This recipe can easily be doubled. Just space the bacon as closely together as possible, without letting them overlap. As an alternative to the jam, I’ve used maple syrup- it can get messy as it’s more runny, but also delicious.
INGREDIENTS:
12 strips of cooked bacon (I use Hormel)
1/4 cup of raspberry preserves (or any jam you like)
1/4 cup of light brown sugar
STEPS:
Preheat oven to 390°F. Line a large baking sheet with a baking rack. (I put a sheet of foil under the rack for an easier cleanup).
Arrange bacon strips onto baking rack and brush evenly with your jam and sprinkle with brown sugar.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until browned and crisp.
Let it cool and enjoy! (If you’re like me, you won’t fully let it cool! These are highly addictive.)
Bon appétit!
